Gingerbread Men

I was looking for a pattern to knit some Gingerbread Men for Christmas tree decorations. I found a few patterns online but, being thrifty, I wanted one for free. The only one I could find was knitted on four needles and the pattern was beyond me. I decided to make up my own pattern – a really easy one knitted with head, body and limbs in one. It turned out pretty well so I thought I’d share it with you.

You’re welcome.

Happy knitting!

Knitting pattern for Gingerbread Man (easy)

This little guy stands 16 centimetres tall and is knitted on size 10 (3.25) needles with head, arms, body and legs all in one piece. He makes a great soft toy or you can add a ribbon and tie him to your Christmas Tree.

You will need double knitting wool (around 25g) in a suitable colour, stuffing and buttons and scraps of ribbon and wool for the ‘icing’.

To make up – Sew him together around all the edges, leaving a gap for stuffing, then ‘ice’ to your taste.

Kfb = knit into front and back of stitch to increase. K2tog = knit two stitches together to decrease.
